To anyone who wants to build a PH alternative, I just want to say, it's not just a product, it's a marketplace, a community. These two types of businesses are already on my blacklist.
PH needs an upgrade, so you really have a big challenge!
2 years ago, I almost took t.co/yyLfH8mOar to YC; all I needed was a co-founder.
Michael gave me so many insights for my product, and also encouraged me to find a co-founder. Without his push, I would've never tried!
I'm glad I tried every option. In the end, I gave up the co-founder's game, and VC path, I believe bootstrapping is best for me at this stage.

Despite the recent YC drama, Michael is genuinely a nice person. He is my legend, always!
It's pointless to judge whether a course or a product is easier. Just go build whatever and make $1M. Not trying to prove the other is wrong, just go build it and prove you are right, regardless of what others think.

What's cool about building in public is that you keep "brainwashing" your audience about product updates. One day, when they need it, they think of your product first.

AI never lies!
But the main goal of bootstrapping is not just to be rich. People may think I'm in the top 10% of bootstrappers among indie hackers, but I may actually be in the bottom 10% when it comes to earning incomes compared to other software engineers at top tech companies.
Bootstrapping is more of a lifestyle for me; it gives me more time to do what I want. No one controls me or tells me what to do. Work might be tough in the middle of the night, but life always takes higher priority during the day when my family is around.
No on-call duties, no meetings, no bullying bosses, no external pressures—just me, my customers, and my family.
