Yves Citton的“The Ecology of Attention”里关于multitasking这段in terms of sampling quality讲得好简洁清晰:

“What we attribute to an ability to carry out several operations at the same time (multi-tasking) – like driving a car and talking about philosophy with a passenger, while at the same time scratching your leg and noticing an ad for a new film – in reality implies knowing how to modulate the sampling level at which we take in and deal with the information drawn from each of the spheres considered (the surrounding cars, the implications of the counter-argument that has been raised, the location of the itch, the names of the actors). What our attention gains quantitatively by considering several objects simultaneously, it loses qualitatively in intensity with each taken separately.”
